Welcome to the
Paintings of Maria Foladori Weiss Foladori Weiss was
born in Buenos Aires in 1956. She graduated from the School of Fine Arts Priliadiano Pueyrredon and then returned to her first
alma mater, the School of Visual Arts Regina Pacis, as the printmaking professor for seven years. In the 1980s, her delicate
paintings and prints were successfully exhibited and sold as part of Argentine movement of "naive painting". After
immigrating into the United States in 1989, she focused on photography resulting in several awards and publications. In the
last five years, she returned to painting from her first studio in Palm Beach County, Florida and now from New Rochelle, New
York.
"Painting is painting. Seeing
a painting should be an experience of pure feeling, like music. The feelings originate in energy, motion
and vibrancy of color and mature through the lessons of the masters of the 20th century. I let my instincts
go on each canvas and then organize the elements. No explanation required to know the emotional state of
mind."
Maria Foladori Weiss, 2006.
